Today's advertisements are related more with celebraties & women..Now comes the question of why. What if we take common man in ads.No..celebraties have become part of ad world & less of their field.
Celebrity advertising is the use of a public figure’s likeness for the purpose of selling a product or service. Celebrity advertising can be accomplished through celebrity endorsements.
Celebrity endorsements imply that the celebrity uses the product or service that he or she is endorsing, and prefers it above others of its kind. For this reason, brands will often target celebrities who appear to reflect whichever effects the advertisement is promising. For example, celebrities who are already fit are often approached to represent fitness and weight loss products, and stars that are known for their hair are approached to endorse certain brands of shampoo. In some cases, the celebrity might not even use the product or service at all.
Some of the best examples of celebrity ads are Shahid Kapoor's ad Men's Vaselin,Bipasha Basu's Sugar-free, Wynncom; Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for 94.3 Radio One, Shahrukh's Santro & many more..There are Aamir,Salman, Amitabh,Prachi who endorse for the ads.....
And who can forget the women in ads....They have been ruling the ad world completely, starting from models to common housewifes; which we call as stereotyping.Whether the women acts well in ads is not important, she has to look beautiful to attract the viewers. They are the centre-stage of ads. Nowadays every girl wants to become models & when they see celebrities doing those ads may it be shampoo or soap, they too want to use it in their daily lives.
Henceforth, we cannot get off our eyes from celebrities & model or common beautiful women in advertisements.

ANIMATIONS IN ADVERTISEMENT WORLD
Animation made its entry in the field of advertisement in early 90's and has been gaining popularity since then. Whether it is buttery 'Amul' girl or famous 'Fido Dido' in 7up's advertisement, animation is making its presence felt in a big way. Popularity of animated characters among youngsters have made animation hip and cool. Ads of Amul attract the most. They come out with a particular theme,be it animated Harbajan-Sreesaanth fight or sachin's brave batting or sonia-rahul gandhi act & many more....
Besides, the visual appeal, many complex issues such as stunts, can also be done away with modern animation techniques. It is also a cost-effective method as a simple animation ad is comparatively less expensive than a commercial with celebrity's presence. Akshay kumar's stunts can also be animated..
And now it is tinting towards animated characters as ad world has realised that animated or clay items have a longer shelf life than celebrities and also the concept of brand ambassador is tends to fade away.
At times there is a problem with celebrities promoting products through advertising because of their rellglon. As such it is desirable to use animated characters because they are creed less and without any religion and evoke no malice or can't hurt anyone's feelings.Another benefit of animated advertisements is their appeal to the common man. For example, Chintamani, (an animated character) of ICICI credential bank represents common man in the same way as Laxman's cartoons used to do. These kinds of characters have unique look but same approach, that is why whether it is upper or middle class, everybody can associate himself/herself with these characters. R.K. Laxman's animated cartoons are worth-seeing n comic to read..starting frm politics, sports, filmsters etc.
We, the best ad agency of Surat too design the best animated ads. Do documentary films attract us ?
Documentary film is a broad category of moving pictures intended to document some aspect of reality. "Documentary" has been described as a "filmmaking practice, a cinematic tradition, and mode of audience reception" that is continually evolving and is without clear boundaries.
Documentary practise is the complex process of creating documentary projects. It refers to what people do with media devices, content, form, and production strategies in order to address the creative, ethical, and conceptual problems and choices that arise as they make documentaries.
Many people think viewing a documentary/short film is boring, though it is hardly of 4 to 9 mins or at the least one & half hours.People have the mentality that documentary are mainly of art forms; esp of agriculture or backward-class or village related ones. But this is not the case. Some of the well-known documentaries are of Satyajit Ray,Arun Chadha,Nikhil Suneja, etc.
I've recently seen a documentary on "Penguins-A love story". It was one of the amazing film I've ever seen. At the beginning I was quite reluctant on viewing this film, but being a film on penguins i thought would be good.
It is a short film on how the penguins in the Antartica move ahead covering 120 kms, find their own partners, make love with each other, just like human beings.Their expression of love, their affection for each other is just worth seeing. The photography is awesome with lovely background music. One feels like experiencing those special moments.
The females become pregnant & they shift their eggs to their partner's womb by coming close. After this, the females have to go to gather food for their yet to be born babies.
For a few months, the males take care of egg coming across winds & snow, which s'times even breaks the egg. If by chance the egg breaks, the females weep loudly & the pair part their ways forever. The females move towards the sea to obtain food, in this process they are mostly eaten by sea-fishes.The under-water shoots are very cleverly taken..the deep water, sea-fishes,the grasses and the fungus inside.
Slowly comes the time when a small baby comes out of the egg with the males shielding them. The baby tries to peep their head from their father's womb.Superb picturization. The baby is so sweet with its small body trying to come out fully. Then the mother comes back & offers food to her baby. Flocks of penguins are gathered at one place and that moves the viewers completely. In this way the older penguins pass away and the babies of 2-3 years learn to live their own living.
Voice-over given by Amitabh Bachchan & the complete shooting has been done live at Antartica about different stages of penguins' lives. It's the direction of Liyuk Jack and produced by Yevaj Daredeo.
Hence Penguins-A love story is a heart-throbbing film to view. Seeing this video, you would too fall in love with the documentary films.

Thus documentary films too have a nice message to convey, just like the penguins' story of how they live their living together in a large flock.

"TV serials with a social causes"
Nowadays TV serials are flooded more with social issues, from child marriages to female infanticide & domestic violence. This has become a trend in real India.
Starting with Baalika Vaadhu which talks about child marriage, violence against women & oppression of weaker classes. The little 10 yr. girl is forced to marry, even as her cries go unheard; later facing lots of difficulties.
These tele-tales are perhaps a mirror to reality. An NRI tale of exploitation, Geet Hui Sabse Parayi reminds how an NRI marries an Indian girl & post-marriage living her alone;how that girl thrives for her freedom.
The serial Pratigya remembers a feeling of revulsion when an educated town girl fights against eve-teasing, marry her oppresor. The serial shows how the girl fights for her rights.
According to social activists, this is a reality that women in such areas face. Some succumb to them, some bravely face them. These episodes help them to increase their TRPs.Some serials reinforce the social messages without diluting its entertainment value. The audience was completely choked when Ammaji in Na aana iss desh lado made her son remarry because his wife couldn't bear achild.
While such social ills are a reality in many parts of the country. Many backward people still follow these issues, best example is Rajasthan.
Truely it's a positive initiative to bring such issues through serials to our drawing rooms. However it's important to audit what's depicted. Seeing these socio-related serials, people of India will treat the women fairly. They'll be given their awaited rights.
Therefore, to reinforce a positive message, the channels need to focus on the positive effects of reform, showing happy families & children being educated & complete freedom to women.
